Joseph E. Grier, 79 of Harrisburg passed peacefully on Monday January 2, 2012. He retired from Bethlehem Steel, served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 733, loved cooking and good camaraderie. He was preceded in death by his parents James W. Grier Sr. and Pearl (Allen) Grier and his wife Nancye Grier. He leaves to celebrate his life a son, Joseph M. Grier of Philadelphia, a sister, Constance Grier of Harrisburg, 2 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Tuesday January 10, 2012. Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. is caring for and handling Mr. Grier’s arrangements.
