Carrie Rose Magdalene Jenkins 77 of Harrisburg, affectionately known as Mother Jenkins, passed peacefully at home on June 6, 2012. Carrie was the daughter of the late Luther and Minnie Jenkins and predeceased by 5 siblings; George Sr., Luther, Druesilla, John Sr., and Russell Jenkins. She was an LPN and retired from the Harrisburg State Hospital with more than 35 years of dedicated service. Mother Carrie was a charter member of Shiloh COGIC with various church ministry affiliations. She leaves to celebrate her memory her siblings; Susie Smith of Lancaster, Eliza (Elmo Sr.) Marbury of Columbia, PA, Minnie M. Jenkins of Harrisburg, Jerry (Christine) Jenkins of Barlett, TN, Rev. Patricia Jenkins and Allen E. (Connie) Jenkins all of Harrisburg. Services will be held in her church at 5950 Derry Street, Harrisburg on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., viewing starting at 9:30 a.m. with internment following at Woodlawn Cemetery. Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. is handling all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shiloh COGIC Mission Board.
