Aaron Smith

Aaron Smith, 58, of Elizabethville, Pennsylvania, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, June 1, 2026. Born to the late Raymond Smith Sr. and Louise Hunter. Aaron was a proud graduate of William Penn High School. Prior to his illness, he was employed with Pine Creek Structures, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependable spirit.

Aaron lived a life filled with simple joys and deep devotion to the people he loved. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found enjoying one of his many passions: deep‑sea fishing or casting a line in a quiet creek, cooking hearty meals, planting flowers, or relaxing with one of his two favorite television shows, Diners, Drive‑Ins and Dives or Chef Gordon Ramsay’s programs. He had a special love for carnival games

Anyone who knew Aaron knew how deeply he adored his wife, Denise—affectionately known as D.D.—and their two dogs. Denise stood faithfully by his side through every medical challenge, ensuring he had everything he needed as he faced each new hurdle with courage. Aaron touched countless lives with his strength, humor, and resilience. Many recognized him as a fighter like no other—a true miracle who continually amazed doctors, nurses, and loved ones alike. His signature “trolls blanket” became a symbol of his spirit and determination.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eric Smith Sr. and Anthony Smith, and his sister, Iris Smith‑Jackson.

Aaron leaves to honor and celebrate his memory his devoted wife, Denise Lesher Smith, whom he loved deeply and faithfully—just five days shy of their 16th wedding anniversary; his daughter, Lakresha; grandchildren Maleah, Aubrey, Jaida, and Xavier; his stepfather, J. Michael Hunter; brothers Raymond and Christian; sister‑in‑law Sheila, spouse of his late brother Eric; sisters Antoinette (Ebrima) Bah, Carmela Smith, and Christina Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and a host of close family and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved four‑legged companions, Moses and Camden, who brought him immeasurable comfort and joy.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 11, from 10:00–11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Interment will take place immediately afterward at William Howard Day Cemetery in Steelton.

A Repast will follow the interment.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1382 W. Main Street, Valley View, PA 17983.
