Albert B. Pherribo, Sr.

Albert Bancroft Pherribo, Sr., was born on October 8, 1931, to George Benjamin Pherribo and Mary Parrish Snipes Pherribo, and passed at age 94 on February 13, 2026. He was the youngest child of his family, with four older brothers: George Henderson Pherribo, John Gilbert (Tony) Pherribo, James Christopher Pherribo and Haywood Lee Harrison Pherribo.

He was predeceased by his parents, his four brothers, his wife Cleopatra Harris Pherribo in 2017, and his sons Michael Leon Pherribo in 1958 and Albert Pherribo, Jr. in 2022.

Albert is survived by his daughters Teresa Pherribo Chapin and Sheryl Ann Pherribo Naticchia, both of Harrisburg, PA, as well as eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in North Carolina, New Jersey, and Utah.

He retired from the federal government after working nearly 40 years as a civilian employee at Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown, Defense Logistics Agency - Susquehanna Distribution Center in New Cumberland, and Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg. Albert was also an entrepreneur, with both a barber shop and a landscaping business, although his passion was gardening, as he was one of the founding members of the Dauphin County Community Gardens on Elmerton Avenue and a picture of him using an antique manual tiller headlines the Facebook page for that group.

His final resting place will be in Hillsborough, NC, near the family homestead.
