Anthony Morgan Margraf

Anthony Morgan Margraf, a dedicated FDNY Firefighter and lifelong New Yorker, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in New York, NY on May 3, 1937, Morgan lived a life defined by service, quiet strength, and independence.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce, and his 3 siblings Harold, Susanna, and Matthew. Morgan is survived by his children Kim and Timothy, their spouses Chris and Ying, and his stepdaughter Karen, as well as grandchildren Kaylyn, Kameron, Sean, Maxwell, Eric, and Madeline. Though private by nature and not one to seek the spotlight, Morgan’s role as a brother, father, husband, and grandfather remains an important part of his story.

Morgan will be remembered for his quiet resilience, intelligent curiosity, humor, desire to help and mentor others, and the integrity with which he lived his life. His pure generosity, compassion for others, and respect for all of God's creatures kept him humble and content. Family and friends will remember his array of domestic pets throughout his life with a smile. The most memorable being his twin Newfoundland dogs, Josh and Jobe. Morgan was an avid NY Mets and NY Rangers fan. His attendance at the first game at Shea Stadium in 1964, and the opportunity to hold the Stanley Cup after the Rangers’ 1994 Playoff win were fond memories.

Morgan’s passion for service was shaped by his roles with the FDNY and the National Guard and he continued to serve his local communities with good deeds and a sense of pride throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Fund for Animal Welfare or a charity of choice in Morgan’s name.
