Barneda F. Bowles Waddell

Barneda “Bonnie” Bowles Waddell, 102, of Harrisburg, PA, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1923, in Henderson, Kentucky, the second oldest of eight children born to the late Theotto and Luvata Bowles.

Barneda attended elementary and secondary schools in Champaign, Illinois. She relocated to Harrisburg in 1945 and worked as a Relief House Parent at Milton Hershey School for 27 years. She was also employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare for 27 years. She faithfully attended Capital Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years.

Bonnie was a world traveler, visiting China, Russia, Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Newfoundland, Halifax, and embarked on 27 cruises.

Along with her parents, she is preceded by her husband Kermit Waddell and her daughter Jacqueline Kirby. She is survived by other relatives and friends.
