THE OBITUARY

 

On March 15, 2021 at the young age of 44, God reclaimed His own as our beloved Cellaneece Capreece Taylor-Brown was called home.

Born  October 6, 1976 to Warren F. Young, Brooklyn, NY and Carolyn M. Taylor of Belhaven NC. At 17 years of age, Cellaneece moved to Harrisburg PA. Upon graduating from John Harris High School, she enlisted in the United States Army for a short time in 1994. In 2002 She married her best friend and soul mate the late Andrew Brown.

Cellaneece was a devoted member of Emanuel Church of God and Christ, Harrisburg, PA under the pastorate of Bishop David M. Screven. She was always willing to share her talents and help anywhere she could.

Cellaneece was the owner of Chrissy’s Catering and CEO of Brown Inc, an umbrella company for her many gifts and talents. She was also a member of The Buffalo Soldiers and S.A.P.P. (Student Athletic Preparation Program).

Left to cherish her memory are seven children: Michael Sellers, 28; Andrew Brown, 24; Ariana Brown, 23; Quinton Brown, 23; SayVon Underwood, 22; Ebony Brown, 21; and Lamont Brown, 14. Four grandchildren: K’monie Sellers, 8; Aminah Sellars, 6; Ava Brown, 5; and Angelique White; 1. Three sisters: Rockeisha Young Murray of New Jersey, Nicole Massoud of Raleigh, NC, Sherita Taylor of Augusta, GA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Cellaneece was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Brown (October 5, 1973 – September 3, 2011), her father Warren F. Young (October 10, 1953 – September 9, 2000) and her mother Carolyn M. Taylor (February 15, 1958 – January 31, 2000)

Cellaneece was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed working with the people in her community, often spearheading fundraising projects -- most notably Andrew Brown's annual block party that raised money for scholarships and school supplies for kids in honor of her late. In her leisure, Cellaneece loved cooking, playing bingo and hosting social gatherings. Cellaneece was very much loved and all who knew her know she would go above and beyond for family and friends alike. She enjoyed family and always found ways to bring everyone together. She was always there to lend a helping hand and would go to battle for anyone.

A beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, she was a true soldier and fought hard to the very end. Cellaneece will truly be missed by all who loved her, in addition to a host of other relatives and good friends. A public viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., masks and social distances is required. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions the funeral service will be held privately.
