Charles Horace James, Sr.

Charles Horace James, Sr., beloved son of the late John James and Annie Lou (Williamson), was born on May 27, 1935, in Henry County, McDonough, Georgia. Charles was known for his intelligence and common sense, valuing solitude but also recognized for his strong work ethic. He had a humble and stern demeanor and dedicated much of his life to janitorial cleaning services, where his diligence and attention to detail were greatly appreciated.

Outside of his work, Charles found joy in simpler pleasures. He had a passion for working on cars, loved the tranquility of fishing, and thoroughly enjoyed playing pool. Additionally, he loved watching old Western TV shows and movies, sitting on the porch greeting passersby, and watching the sunset.

On May 21, 2024, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Charles passed away just shy of his 89th birthday. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Irene James and Mable James, and his brother John E. James. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength and practicality, cherished by his son, Charles H. James, Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and those who knew him, reminding them of a life well-lived, marked by dedication and simplicity.
