Obituary of Charles Turns Sr.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Our sovereign and eternal God, who never makes a mistake, summoned unto Himself the soul of our beloved father, son, and brother, Charles Louis Turns Sr.
Charles Louis Turns Sr., 62, departed this life on September 19, 2026, with his loving family at his bedside. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on July 31, 1964, he was the son of the late Eugene Turns Sr. and Elder Laura Elizabeth Turns-Thomas.
Charles “Chuckie” spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
Charles was educated in the Downingtown School District and held many positions throughout his working life.
Charles was an avid fisherman who could spend hours by the water. He was also an enthusiastic bowler and participated in several leagues at Downingtown Bowling Alley. A devoted fan of the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, he was also known for his culinary skills, he could make T-bone steaks like no other. Charles enjoyed fast cars; his first car was a brown hot-rod Mustang. He also loved building model cars. Charles, a kind, generous man, always willing to do anything to help someone. He never complained about anything.
Charles was a gifted and skilled handyman who could fix or assemble anything he set his mind to. We often laughed with appreciation at the creative ways he made things work.
Charles was a member of Gates of Zion in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Years later, he joined Faith Refuge Church Ministries, where he was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ on December 8,2019. He surrendered his life to God and continued to be a living testimony to God’s goodness.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Ludwig Turns, His father Eugene Turns Sr.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his legacy and beautiful memories of his Son Charles Louis Turns Jr. son (Monae) Mother Elder Laura Turns- Thomas, stepson Justin Kolar (Chasity), brother Eugene Turns Jr, sister Shari Turns Nash (Anthony Sr), grandchildren Nehemia Turns, Emaria King Turns, niece Aileen Turns Saul, nephew Dr. Anthony Nash Jr (Abby) and host of family and friends.
Chuckie presence will be deeply missed, but his love and memory will remain in our hearts forever.
