Clara V. Venie

Clara Virginia Venie was born October 25, 1917 to Laura Puller Venie in Rappahannock County, Front Royal, Virginia. Ms. Cara was affectionately called Mama Cara to almost everyone she knew. She was always a mom to everyone, even people she did not know. With only a third-grade education, Mama Clara raised her two children Nancy P. Venie and Author G. Venie on her own. Wanting to give her children better opportunities in life, she eventually moved her family to Harrisburg Pennsylvania where she worked as a domestic for the State of Pennsylvania and cleaned houses to provide a good living for them.

Mama Clara was a Godfearing woman who strongly believed in “do unto the least of these my brotheren”, she would always speak to people when she entered a room or when she would walk to work, or on her way to the store. She also had an adornment for cats so much so she would go and buy cat food to feed her neighbors cats when they were to sick to do so. She would visit the sick and shut-in, she would go to the nursing homes and rehab facilities to visit the residents there even when she did not know anyone there. She did that just because of who she was, a caring loving person with a huge heart and a tremendous amount of love for everyone. 

Mama Clara has been survived by her daughter Nancy P. Venie, her son Author G. Venie, her granddaughter Tracie Dandridge, (spouse Jeffery Dandridge), her 9 great grandchildren, Gregory Venie, Janelle Febus, (spouse Johan Febus), Said Dandridge, Hassan Dandridge, Joshua Williams, Joseph Williams, Danae Dandridge, Genee’ Williams, and Marcus Dandridge, (Fiancé Daja Anderson), She also leaves to cherish her memory, 8 great great grandchildren , Destinie Venie, Donald Dandridge, Alexander Febus, Shyanne Febus, Janiya Williams, Juelz Brooks, Christian Moss, and Chloe Dandridge. Her 4 nieces Nelly Rose, her children, Darryl (spouse Juanita), Dion, (spouse Dawn), Joanne, (granddaughter Kanesha), Janet, her son David, 1 nephew Stephen (spouse Garnetta), their children Timmy and Tammy, 1 niece-in-law Arnetta, her children Jerome (spouse Angie), Jennifer (spouse Derick) their children, and Kevin (spouse Erica) and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, the Jet family and many friends.
