Constance “Connie” Peterson 79, of Harrisburg passed peacefully on May 27, 2021. She was born in Steelton, PA to the late Robert Hanna and Lucille (Benjamin) Hanna.
She was educated in the Steelton Public Schools System having attended Hygienic Elementary School and Steelton High School, graduating in 1960. As a child she was a member of Monumental A.M.E. Church, Steelton. Upon marriage she became affiliated with Kingdom Hall, Jehovah’s, Witness where she remained a member for life. Connie worked as a clerk for Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).
Constance was a talented artist and singer who loved jazz music. She could crochet, sew, and draw especially pictures of trees and leaves. Connie had a passion for dogs, nature, and loved taking walks with her grandchildren. Her favorite foods included Barg’s root beer UTZ potato chips and Italian subs from Naple’s Subs in Steelton.
She loved her family and believed in sticking together and being there for each other.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by siblings; Robert Hanna Jr., Vernell, Rudolph and Alvin Hanna. She leaves to celebrate her life, children; Leroyal, Marcia, Gregory and Dana Peterson, siblings; Annette Seay, Alda Epps, Anita Matthews, William Hanna, Rose Carter, grandchildren; Shamira Gutierrez, who cared for her until her passing, Ashley Peterson, Dana “DJ” and Drey Carey, Anthony Flowers, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
