Dale Fishel

Dale Eugene Fishel, 82, Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday March 6, 2026.

Dale was born at home on December 13, 1943, in Dillsburg, PA son of the late Melvin and Ethel (Walker/Griffith) Fishel , Sr. Dale served in the Army in the Vietnam War from May 6, 1965 to December 24, 1966 (honorable discharge) after completing basic training at Fort Dix, NJ. He then went on to complete reserve duties until May 5, 1971. After his service time Dale worked at the Steelton Steel Mill for many years before moving on to the New Cumberland Army Depot as a Mail Handler for 23 years until he retired.

Dale loved going to the Gettysburg Battle Field and enjoyed creating Indian art work, bird/squirrel watching and crafts.

He is preceded in death by his parents (Melvin and Ethel),step-father William Griffith, brother Richard Fishel, brother Melvin Fishel Jr., Richard Fishel, sister Joyce Simpson and step-son Michael Souders.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Fishel (Souders) of 34 years, 3 step children: Melissa Scheidler, Michelle Dressler, and Anthony Souders. 3 Sisters: Evelyn Reed, Lois "Shrimp" Burger, Judie Updike (Fishel) and 3 nieces: Jodi Bakner, Terry Atkins, Joa Fleshman, 1 nephew Steve Owens, 5 grand children, 6 great-grand children and several great nieces.
