Donald Hilliard

Donald Ray Hilliard, born on May 8, 1959, in Kosciusko, Mississippi began his life’s journey as the cherished son of Earnestine Hilliard. Relocating to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his mother at a young age, Donald laid the foundation of his education at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School. Following his academic pursuits, he furthered his education at  Boston College in Massachusetts, where he nurtured his passion for learning.

Embarking on his professional career, Donald thrived as a paralegal in Boston. However, his heart led him back to his roots in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he rekindled connections with loved ones. Donald’s affection for his family knew no bounds, evident in his frequent trips to New York where he cherished moments with his beloved mother, sister Monica, nephew Eben, and niece Camille creating treasured memories.

Among the many significant relationships in his life, Donald held Phyllis and Eugene Britton dear, regarding them as his adopted parents and loved being in their company. His enduring friendships with Steve Harris, Stefan Jordan, and special friend Amy Vanasco-Pace were marked by shared passions for outdoor activities, culinary pursuits, watching movies, and cultural indulgences, reflecting Donald’s zest for life.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, Donald’s earthly journey came to a close as he was called to is heavenly home. Left behind to honor his memory and celebrate his life are his mother, Earnestine Hilliard of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his sister, Monica Charles; nephew Eben Charles; and niece Camille Charles of Brooklyn, New York. He will be dearly missed by his Aunt Laura Howard of Brockton, Massachusetts, Uncle Jerry Hilliard of Jackson, Mississippi, his loyal fur companion Max, and a multitude of cherished family members, friends, and loved ones.

Donald’s legacy lives on through the love he shared and the lives he touched, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories.
