May 18, 1935 — Jul 5, 2026

Dorothy Taylor

Dorothy Ann Taylor was born on May 18, 1935, in Prosperity, South Carolina, to the late Roy Rickard, Sr. and Geneva Davenport Rickard Concepcion. Dorothy traveled the last mile of her earthly journey at Spring Creek Nursing Home, Harrisburg, PA.

Dorothy grew up in Harrisburg, PA and attended its Public School System. After 30 plus years of service in the Dietary Department, she retired from Polyclinic Hospital, in Harrisburg, PA.  She was the mother of Frederick A., Michael L., Jeffrey L., and Nathaniel Rickard. She married Earl Taylor and they had a blended family of ten children.

Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was a member of Mt. Calvary Church of God In Christ. She was a caregiver to many and her home was a hospitable place for those in need. Dorothy enjoyed her family and up until the latter years, she was still providing care for the family. She loved reading the Word and fellowshipping with her church family and enjoyed Sunday dinners after church services. She was a loving and caring individual and always willing to help others in whatever way she could.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her late husband Earl Taylor, and her two sons: Jeffrey L. and Nathaniel Rickard, grandson: Michael Tippitt, sisters: Cora Smith and WillaMae Irvin, and brother Roy (Jake) Rickard, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Frederick A. and Michael L. Rickard, brothers Michael (Michelle) and Charles Concepcion, 9 grandchildren, numerous blended great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and especially dear to her heart were David and Sheila Royal.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
