Ellen (Auntie) Pleasant, of Third Street, Harrisburg, PA is at peace with her Lord as she quietly slipped away Sunday, January 29, 2017 from her earthly vessel to receive her crown in Glory. “Auntie” as she was so affectionately called was born March 15, 1913, in Winnsboro, SC one of thirteen children born to the late James and Cora Stevenson. Auntie was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years and was the oldest member. She was also a member of the Heinz Senior Citizens Center for over 30 years. Auntie formerly owned businesses in Harrisburg, PA. She also worked at Pomeroy's in Harrisburg and retired as a State employee from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Ellen was a very energetic and charismatic woman that loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining at gatherings for family and friends,opening her heart and home to anyone in need. In addition to her parents, Auntie was preceded in death by her husband George Pleasant, children Cora Porter and James Gladden, and grandchild James Aaron Gladden. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, eight grandchildren; Ramon (Cindy), Granda, David, Darlene, Lucretia, John, Jeffrey (Erlinda) and Gerald Gladden; devoted niece Rosetta Strickland; 13 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very close friends.
