Franklin Taylor Jackson was born October 5th, 1949 in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late Mary Jackson and Frank Walker. His family moved to Pennsylvania in 1959 where he was raised by his eldest sibling Blondell Smith.
Frank was the youngest of seven siblings, four brothers and three sisters. Frank served in the army as a Specialist 4 during the Vietnam War. Frank raised 4 children with his wife Christine Jackson, Franklin Jackson, Jr., Kourtnay Mahone, Lisa McManuels and Christopher Mahone. Frank worked for Taylor Wharton Iron and Steel which he retired from after 39 years.
Frank enjoyed many sports but loved being a coach for the Kiwanis Baseball League of which he was also the president for 25 years. Frank was loved by many and had a big heart for the kids in the community. Frank loved going to the race track and fishing with his brother Charles and other family members. Frank was an avid Eagles fan and spent the weekend watching football with family. Daddy , I am going to miss your stories and the constant laughter from your overwhelming blunt honesty, now I see where I get it from. I'm going to miss our weekly trips to the market to get the same thing every week, watching those dirty nags run around the track and we never won anything, and going to the store to play your numbers. Frank loved being surrounded by family and will be missed dearly.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother Mary Jackson, father Frank Walker; two brothers Hubert and Lawrence Jackson; two sisters Blondell Smith and Mary Minor Johnson; and his grandson Cortney Jackson.
He leaves precious memories of love to his children, Franklin Jackson Jr., Kourtnay Mahone, Lisa McManuels (Chris) and Christopher Mahone all of Harrisburg, PA: two sisters, Roberta Jackson (Arthur) and Louise Palmer, both of Harrisburg; and one brother Charles Jackson (Deborah) of North Carolina.
