Jamil Ramon Carter 35 of Harrisburg, affectionately known as “Drip”, was born on September 3, 1990, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Patricia Smith and the late Zubber Carter Jr. He was the youngest of three children.
Jamil completed his education in the Harrisburg Public School System and graduated from William Penn High School in 2008. In his youth He served on the Jr Usher Board at Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ.
He was employed in the retail sector at Macy's and Bon Ton until their closures. Additionally, he operated an online business in which he marketed oils, incense, laundry detergent, jewelry etc.
Jamil enjoyed visiting Dave & Buster's, participating in bowling activities, dining out, and taking photographs. He took pride in his appearance, maintained a charismatic personality, and appreciated social interactions. Additionally, he actively engaged with social media platforms, particularly Facebook.
Jamil was very close to his grandmother, who taught him a lot and was very important in his life. Her death changed his life significantly.
Jamil Carter transitioned into eternal life on January 3, 2026, at 6:23 a.m. at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital Harrisburg, PA.
Along with his father he is preceded by his paternal grandparents Geneva Proctor and Joseph Proctor.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his devoted mother, Patricia Smith of Harrisburg, PA, his siblings; Raasheed Carter, Harrisburg, PA, Nicole Carter of Marietta, GA, his stepmother; Irene Thompson, Harrisburg, PA, his uncle Dean Carter, Harrisburg, PA, Aunts Ida Mae Hatcher, Dada G. Richardson, both of Harrisburg, PA, special cousins Jessie Johnson, Lulu Hicks, Jackie Hatcher, Devon Carter, all of Harrisburg, PA and Kesi Carter, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
