Obituary for Jefferey Barry Jacox, Jr.
Jefferey Barry Jacox, Jr., beloved son of Eleanora Jacox and the late Jefferey Barry Jacox, Sr., was born on Tuesday, January 15, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York. From a young age, Jefferey’s spirit was bright, creative, and full of life. He loved playing games like Mega Man and Street Fighter, pool and was known for his generosity — often building and repairing bikes for kids in his neighborhood. Always active in his community, Jefferey was surrounded by a close-knit group of friends known as “Gunplay,” with whom he shared a deep love for music.
Brooklyn was his heartbeat. It was where he grew, learned, and built the foundation of who he would become — strong, loyal, and determined. He carried his hometown with pride everywhere he went, often reflecting on how its energy and spirit shaped him. The lessons he learned there — resilience, creativity, and community — became the core of the man we all came to love and admire.
Jefferey had a brilliant sense of humor and loved to laugh — his laughter had a way of lighting up any room he entered. Comedy wasn’t just something he enjoyed; it was part of how he connected with people and found joy in life. It was also a special bond he shared with his father, who introduced him to the world of entertainment and laughter early on. Through that connection, Jefferey learned the power of joy — how humor could heal, bring people together, and make even the hardest days feel lighter.
A gifted mind, Jefferey was among the top 10% national in math in the fifth grade and carried that sharpness throughout his life. Entirely self-taught in music, his creativity evolved into entrepreneurship — a path some might have misunderstood as rebellion, but which was in truth his way of building something greater. His early exposure to entertainment and comedy through his father also shaped his unique outlook on life.
Jefferey later moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he attended high school and obtained his GED. In his early twenties, he achieved what many only dream of — home ownership and business ownership. In 2017, at age 32, he opened the doors to his first home, which also became the foundation for his home management business. With the unwavering support of his mother, his lifelong cheerleader and confidant, he continued to grow. By 2020, he had acquired multiple properties, laying the groundwork for generational wealth.
Jeffrey founded Diligent Assembly, LLC, inspired by his childhood passion for building bikes and helping others. His company later contracted with Lowe’s and Home Depot, a testament to his skill, vision, and perseverance. His greatest achievements were not just in property or business, but in his ability to uplift those around him — ensuring his family and friends were supported, secure, and empowered to succeed.
Jefferey was a man ready to live, to love, and to be loved. He found happiness in his work, in his family, and in the simple joy of seeing others win — especially his brother, whom he championed endlessly. Spiritually grounded, Jefferey believed deeply in God, in Yahweh, and in the power of faith and purpose.
He is survived by his loving mother, Eleanora Jacox, and stepfather, Rexaveria Lawrence; five brothers — Rickey Sharron, Stephan Jacox, Alan Judge, Kenard Judge and Tayvon Lawrence; one sister, Nyell Lawrence; grandmother Mary Robinson; uncle Scott Jacox, aunt Cheryl Jacox, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A special acknowledgment and heartfelt thank you to Amari Edwards and Ricky Sharon, Sr., for their love, care, and presence during Jefferey’s final moments.
Jefferey’s legacy lives on through his kindness, his faith, his vision, and the countless lives he touched. His laughter, generosity, and determination will never be forgotten.
