Judith Armstead

In Loving Memory of Judith Armstead

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Armstead, who transitioned on August 24, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Judy leaves behind a legacy of joy, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Judy lived a life filled with vibrant passions and simple pleasures. Her radiant smile was a natural expression of the warmth she carried. She was a woman of deep faith who loved attending the Harrisburg Church of Christ. She retired as a Senior Anesthesia Tech at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service and took great pride in her work. At home, she was just as spirited. A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she was always ready for football season. She enjoyed computer games, catching up on her favorite judge shows, especially Judge Judy, and savoring her husband Tony's delicious home cooking. Above all, Judy was the heartbeat of every gathering, always ready for a good dance party with the family and friends she treasured. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rome Potts, Jr. and Patricia Andrews Baity; her grandparents, Dallas Andrews and Diantha Strothers Potts; and her sister, Romelle Potts.

Judy's memory will be forever cherished by her devoted husband, Tony Armstead, Sr., and her loving children: Adrienne Potts, Andrea Potts Richardson (Purnell Richardson, Jr.), Tony "TJ" Armstead, Jr. (Megan), Asia Armstead, and Stanley Potts, Sr. Her light will live on through her precious grandchildren: Aubrei Sacko Potts; Purnell Richardson III, Mekhi, Amarie, Skylar, and Jordyn Richardson; Emery and Lettie Armstead; Londyn Carter; Jaden Brooks, Jacorey Potts, Stanley Potts, Jr., and Anabella Potts. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Donnell Baity, Aaron Potts, David Potts (Loretta), and Gina Potts McCoy (Dennis). She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Celebration Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Walter Hooper Memorial Chapel, 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
