Laniard Brown

Laniard "Penny" Brown, 72 of Harrisburg PA, passed peacefully on February 25, 2024 at the Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Millersburg, PA.

Laniard was born in Harrisburg PA, on April 29, 1951. He was predeceased by his parents Edward Larry Sr. and Ida Mae (nee Turner) Brown, as well as his brother Edward Larry Jr. and Barry Kent Brown. Laniard was the beloved husband of Rosalie Hicks; a loving father to Katrina Brown, devoted grandfather to Kevin Perry and Juliun Purdy; a dear brother to Patricia (Kevin) Holmes, Barry and Rhonda Brown, a step-son Brian Hicks, sister-in-law Lydia (Dave) Ferris, and he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends, including a special bond with his niece Toccara "Missy" Brown. 

Penny, as he was affectionately known as, retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Transportation in 2004 after 30 years of dedicated service. During that time, he also DJ'd at local Harrisburg clubs and held several part time jobs at local radio stations in Harrisburg and Chesapeake Virginia. He enjoyed his retirement time as an avid golfer. Penny's love of music and big personality were only outdone by his huge smile. He will be truly missed.
