Letitia A. (Grier) Turner, 60, of Susquehanna Township, passed away on May 9, 2020 in the comfort of her home surrounded by close family. Tish as she was lovingly called was born to Calvin D. Grier and the late Eva Louise (Glasper) Grier on January 9, 1960 at the Harrisburg Hospital. She graduated from Harrisburg High School and retired from 20 years of passionately serving as a life-sharing provider to those that were intellectually disabled. Tish had been walking with Jesus for over 30 years and during her young adult years, she joined Mt. Calvary C.O.G.I.C. where she received her foundation in righteousness and prayer. In her older adult years, she joined Bridge of Faith International Christian Church and was a member for over 16 years where she was very active and supportive in various ways such as participating in the Outreach/Evangelism and Usher teams.
Tish enjoyed a house full of people through entertaining family and friends, cooking, baking, eating crab legs, shopping, praying, reading her Bible, participating in church activities, listening to preaching, praise and worship music, and attempting to harmonize and sing. She was known for her huge love for God, her family and her church; along with her passionate and prophetic prayer and intercession, skilled hair-braiding, randomly breaking out and singing songs that she didnât always know all the words to and her renowned singing on her voicemail.
She will be missed for her warm and perky personality and silliness and most of all for her compassionate heart for all those that she came in contact with. Without hesitation, she opened her home to many family members and friends over the years when they may have experienced a job loss or needed a transitional place to stay for a short period of time; she demonstrated a true love for people.
Surviving is her father, Calvin D. Grier, her husband of over 17 years, Theodore Turner, Jr.; their 6 children, Monika and her husband Donald Harris, Bobbie J. Grier, Theodore Turner III, Martin Cooper and his wife Octavia, Naetashia Turner, and Tiffany Turner. They also have a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her siblings; Jerome Glasper, Mary Ross, Calvin Bud Grier, Sr., Sheldon Grier, Loretta Grier, Leslie Grier Kennedy, and Mark Grier, and host of beloved relatives and friends.
