Louis E. Williams, Jr, affectionately called Lou or Junior, was born on December 4, 1952 in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Louis E. Williams, Sr and the late Dorothy M. Williams (née Miller). Louis was very loving, kind and supportive in all areas of his life, whether as husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, etc.
Louis was educated in the Harrisburg School system, graduated from the former William Penn High School and was very proud to be a William Penn TIGER. After graduating from high school, Louis joined the US Marine Corps as a supply technician and also played on the base's traveling basketball team. After completing his tour of duty with the Marines, Lou returned home and worked several odd jobs before achieving permanent employment at the former New Cumberland Army Depot. He worked over 40 years in various warehouse positions including preservation packager, forklift operator etc. processing items supporting the warfighter and our military around the world, to becoming a highly respected supervisor for the Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Distribution Center, from which he retired. During this time, he simultaneously served in the US Army Reserves, 316th Station Hospital as a chef. He retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant after honorably serving 25 years. However, his favorite job was serving as a PIAA basketball official. He was a lover of anything related to sports and was a member of several softball and basketball teams and followed the Harrisburg High Cougars basketball/football teams faithfully. He supported his grandchildren religiously in all their extracurricular activities. He was a lover of jazz music, watching old black and white westerns, Walker Texas Ranger and Sanford and Son. He also enjoyed visiting casinos, playing the lottery, baking and hosting cookouts and holiday get-togethers with family and friends. He proudly converted to Catholicism in 1986 and served as an usher at the former Sacred Heart Catholic church, now the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick’s. Lou never met a stranger. His presence and laughter will be greatly missed
Lou passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 in the ICU at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Christopher Michael, his sisters Diane and Christina Williams; and his brothers, Frank, Tyrone and Robert Williams. Lou was most proud being a husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories, his wife, Clarinda (Denise) Williams of Harrisburg, his sisters, Theresa Miller of Harrisburg; Mary Eden of Harrisburg; Eva Williams of Middletown; his brother, Richard Williams of Harrisburg; his children, Louis E Williams III (Tasha); StarKisha Williams; Taj Williams; Fred Brown (Andrea), Lakiya Williams, all of Harrisburg, PA.; 14 grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
