Mae Bell Warthen

Mae Bell Warthen affectionately known as “Baby sister” age 79 of Harrisburg, PA took a flight to heaven to be with the Lord on October 6, 2023 at Colonial Park Care Center in Harrisburg, PA. She was born January 3, 1944 to the late Rosie Mae & Timothy Warthen in Bartow, GA. Later her family moved to Autmn, Ohio. She lived most of her life in Massillon until 2017 moving to Harrisburg, PA to be with her daughter & family. She was preceded in death by her parents Timothy & Rosie Mae Warthen, her sons David Warthen, Anthony Darnell and Calvin Carroll, one sister Bobbie Lucille Howard and her beloved dog Spike.

She leaves to cherish her life, one daughter Mary Jane (Rodney) Brooks, Harrisburg, PA, one son Melvin Carroll, Massillon, OH, Grandson Travell Hendershot of Austell, GA, Granddaughter Anneka L. Brooks of Harrisburg, PA Grandson’s Dominque Carroll, TN and Grandson Calvin Carroll, Jr, Canton, OH, Three sisters Jo Ann (Ronald) Boyd, Columbus, OH, Willie Alice Campbell, Massillon, OH and Della Knight, GA and 2 special Great grandsons Jaden D. Brooks and Jace R. Cole of Harrisburg PA who was the light of her life and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

 Mae Bell retired from the Timken Roller Bearing Company in Canton, OH with 32 years and 4 months of service in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, fishing, traveling, playing cards and making her yard look beautiful along with her plants. Most of all Mae Bell loved her family. Early in life Mae Bell was a member at Shiloh Baptist Church in Massillon, OH as she served as usher, she also was a member at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Canton, Ohio and the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Harrisburg, PA.
