Michael Jerome Thomas, age 64, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1959, in Harrisburg PA to his loving parents William and Pearl Thomas. Growing up on 19th Street, Michael found joy in riding minibikes, a passion that defined his early years.
After attending Harrisburg High School, Michael made a significant decision to enlist in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Hawaii. He was known for his outspoken assertiveness and unwavering bravery. Michael approached life with confidence and a positive attitude. His faith was a cornerstone of his being, seeking strength through prayer during life's challenges. In Michael's words, "when my number is called, ain't nothing I can do but grab my coat and my hat!"
Michael will be fondly remembered by his surviving family members; sister Joyce Thomas, sons Nigel Sinclair Thomas, Julian Thomas, and Michael Sellers, daughters Lushanda Pere Thomas and Mikesha Thomas, nieces Winnietka Thomas, Asela Moore, Quennha Moore, and Sharde Moore, nephew Darryl Martin III, and a host of grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life, including Treshon Thomas, Najah Thomas, Kiarra Thomas, Josiah Thomas, Moriah Thomas, Late Nahmer Baird, Jamar Baird, Lanier Baird, Nyla Baird, Milas Akbar, Adonai Thomas, Adania Thomas, Qu'anna Thomas Tur'quan Thomas and Qua'Vonni Thomas.
Michael's strong spirit and enduring legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of his loved ones.
