Ozzie L. Lewis, III, son of Ozzie L. Lewis, Jr., and the late Sandra Oliver Lewis, peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, friendship, generosity, and love. A proud graduate of Red Land High School, Class of 1995, in Fairview Township, Pennsylvania, Ozzie lived a life marked by meaningful relationships, unwavering kindness, and a genuine appreciation for the people and experiences that enriched his journey.
A man of deep faith and quiet devotion, Ozzie loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Grantham Church. He found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside his church family. For Ozzie, the church was more than a place of worship—it was a spiritual home where he strengthened his relationship with God, found encouragement, and built lasting bonds with others.
To know Ozzie was to know someone who truly valued friendship and family. He possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, appreciated, and loved. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Ozzie was always willing to lend a helping hand, often expressing his love through thoughtful gifts, words of encouragement, and acts of generosity. His father fondly recalls treasured memories of taking Ozzie and his sister to a Michael Jackson concert and to Disney World—special moments that reflected the close and loving bond they shared.
Ozzie embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a love for travel. He enjoyed exploring new places, creating lasting memories, and experiencing the beauty and diversity of the world around him. He also appreciated life's simple pleasures, including a hearty serving of macaroni and cheese and cheering enthusiastically for his beloved Minnesota Vikings. During football season, Ozzie could often be found proudly dressed in purple and gold, passionately supporting his favorite team.
His warmth, generosity, and genuine love for life touched countless hearts. Through his friendships, his faith, and his caring spirit, Ozzie made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to call him family and friend.
Ozzie was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Oliver Lewis, and his stepmother, Berniece Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving father, Ozzie L. Lewis, Jr.; his sister, Crystal Lewis; his brother, Pastor Tertius Seth Johnson; his nieces, Ashley Lewis and Teyanna Johnson; his siblings, Adriann (Ace) Cunningham, Kareem Cunningham, and Deborra Cunningham; and a host of relatives, friends, church family members, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.
As we celebrate Ozzie's life, we give thanks for the joy he brought to others, the faith he lived by, and the love he freely shared. His legacy reminds us of the power of kindness, the value of friendship, and the importance of living each day with gratitude and purpose.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."Matthew 25:23 (KJV)
