Queenie K. Spells passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at SCCI in Harrisburg. Queenie retired from Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot in computer operations and was a devoted member of Harris A.M.E. Zion Church. She was also a Christian Education Director of the Philadelphia Conference, member of the Missionary Society, the Choir and the Layman's Council. Queenie enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, arts and crafts, reading and puzzles. Queenie loved her family immensely and leaves to celebrate her life and legacy her children; George Nolan Spells, Jr., Gregory Q. Spells, Charmaine A. Spells and Tamara E. Spells, sisters and brothers; Rev. Gladys Jernigan, Anna Ruth Woodard, Faye Kirkland, Brenda Rice, Tracey Kirkland, Jerome and Jason Kirkland, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Queenie will be celebrated on Tuesday at Wesley Union A.M.E. Zion Church at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:00. The Hooper Memorial Home Inc will guide her to her interment in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The family appreciates your love and support and requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Harris A.M.E. Zion Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 3748, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
