Rodney E. Thomas

Rodney Eric Thomas, born on May 21, 1946, in Buckeystown, MD, to Lillian Proctor, received his education within the Buckeystown and Hope Hill Maryland school systems. He dedicated many years of service as a Security Enforcement Officer in both Philadelphia, PA, and New York, NY.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, Rodney peacefully transitioned from labor to eternal rest at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lillian Proctor Cheatham; his stepfather, William H. Cheatham; and his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce "Birdie" and Willie Green.

Rodney is survived by his daughter, Sabrina "Noopy" Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; his sister, Lisa Cheatham of Harrisburg, PA; and his four brothers, George "Beverly" Thomas, William "Shugg" Cheatham, Tony Cheatham, and Timothy Cheatham, all of Harrisburg, PA. He also leaves to celebrate his life three nieces: Vickie "Gerry" Thomas and Kelly Green of Harrisburg, PA, and Christina Kent of Washington, DC; one great-niece, Amiya Rector of Harrisburg, PA; two nephews, Vincent Thomas and Barry Rector of Harrisburg, PA; and a very special and devoted friend, Gloria Olivariuvs of Harrisburg, PA
