Ronald Diangelo “Ron” Kent 63, of Olympia, WA passed peacefully on March 14, 2023. He was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Doris J. (Kent) Roadcap on April 30, 1959. He was the firstborn child and was affectionately known as “Nucom” to his family.

 

Ron was a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School, class of 1977. He served honorably in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist for 4 years. During his time in the military, he traveled to various countries, of these places, the most important was the time spent in Saudi Arabia.

 

After being discharged from the Air Force, Ron was employed by the federal government while living in the Netherlands. He also worked for the Defense Commissary for several years in Fairbanks, Alaska. Later, Ron would move from Alaska to Washington where he was employed as a State Correctional Officer. Ron retired after many years of dedicated service in 2021. He stayed in Washington after retiring and shared his security knowledge with Lumas Security. He was lauded for his knowledge and service, receiving monetary gifts, certificates of appreciation, and numerous plaques. He was noted by all his employers as a dedicated and exceptional employee!

 

Ron was a professional musician specializing in the drums. He would look for musicians to play with no matter what city or country he lived in. He played in churches and other venues. He worked tirelessly on improving his musical talent his entire life.

 

Along with his mother, he was preceded by his sister Debra Alexander. Nucom leaves to celebrate his life his son Gerron Kent of Charlottesville, VA, sisters, Saundra Golden, Judith Maclin, and Iris Miller, all of Harrisburg, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
