Ronnie Calvin Perkins

Ronnie Calvin Perkins, of Harrisburg was born on April 15, 1958, in Winnsboro, South Carolina. He is the son of Clara L. Perkins and the late Johnny Perkins.

Ronnie was affectionately known as “Perk” by his family and friends. Ronnie graduated from Harrisburg High School, Class of 1976.

During his working career Ronnie worked at East Shore Auto, KFC, Fool Hall, and Quality Care Maintenance.

Two of the proudest moments in Ronnie’s life was the birth of his two daughters, Yvonne Jackson, and Chiquita Perkins, also the time he was called to the stage to dance with Gladys Knight at a Concert in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Ronnie loved to dance, he enjoyed cooking, playing the lottery and watching western movies. He was an avid fan of both NFL teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

On Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 64 years old, Ronnie transitioned into eternal life at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted mother, Clara L. Perkins, daughters, Yvonne Jackson and Chiquita Perkins; his sisters, Cynthia (Oliver) Ellis and Barbara White; his brother, Ricky (Iris) Perkins, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

Special recognition, Barbara White was Ronnie’s most devoted, dependable, and loving caregiver who made it a priority to make sure his needs were met. Ronnie had excellent medical teams, UPMC Wound Center, UPMC Home Health Care, Fresenius Kidney Center, and CAT transportation service.

Ronnie touched all our lives and left us with wonderful life memories.
