In Loving Memory of Shakia Shante Miller
April 23, 1982 – August 24, 2026
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Shakia Shante Miller, affectionately known as “Kia,” who transitioned from this life at home on August 24, 2026, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at the age of 44.
Shakia was born on April 23, 1982, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Cynthia Clark-Martin and John Miller. She was the firstborn child of both parents and the first grandchild in her family—a special place she held with pride, love, and tenderness.
A proud graduate of Harrisburg High School, Shakia dedicated many years of her life to the healthcare field. She worked in mental health and served as a supervisor, bringing compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others to everything she did. She never hesitated to be there for those in need, and her caring spirit made a lasting difference in the lives of many.
Above all, Shakia loved the Lord. Her faith was a meaningful and cherished part of her life. She loved attending church and could often be found watching Prophet Matthew teach the Word. Shakia was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice and was well known for singing “Silver and Gold” by Kirk Franklin. She enjoyed old gospel hymns and quartet groups, a love she shared with her grandfather.
Kia’s personality was truly unforgettable. She carried a beautiful smile and loved to laugh, bringing warmth and joy wherever she went. She enjoyed fashion, getting dressed up, and especially loved her lashes. Pink was her favorite color. She was a devoted fan of Fantasia, loved good food, and enjoyed trying different dishes. She also loved traveling and experiencing new places.
Shakia was a loving, caring, and deeply family-oriented woman. She was always willing to help and had a heart for the people around her. Her children were her heart, and she loved, appreciated, and adored them deeply. The love she had for her family was reflected in the way she showed up for the people she cared about—with kindness, loyalty, and an open heart.
Shakia’s beautiful smile, infectious laughter, loving spirit, faith, and generosity touched the lives of many. Those who knew and loved her will forever carry the memories of her warmth, her voice, her laughter, and the special way she made people feel. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Shakia leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, Jai’onne Miller and Egypt Myrick; her parents, Cynthia Clark-Martin and John Miller; her grandmother, Dorothy Martin; her siblings, Te’Ara Harris, Ethel Green, Mariah Selvey, Johnny Miller, Jamariqua Miller, and Anaya Miller; her cherished nephews, Tyler and Tyeir, who held a special place in her heart; her aunts and uncles, Stanley Martin, Vickie Hutchinson, Karen Hill, Lar-Kay Davis, Iesha Martin, Lisa Gerald, Jim Jones, and Anthony Miller; her bonus uncle, Todd Abney; her loyal friends, Rebecca Juggins and Marlena Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will continue to honor and cherish her memory.
Shakia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earnest Ralph Martin, Johnny Miller Sr., and Connie Flemming, and her stepfather, Porter Clark.
Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave, the lives she touched, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will remain with us forever. Her legacy will live on through her children, her family, her friends, and everyone whose life was made brighter by knowing her.
Rest peacefully, Shakia.Your beautiful smile, your laughter, your voice, your faith, and your love will live on in all of us.Until we meet again.
Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
