Theresa E. Whitaker

With sorrowful hearts, we celebrate the life and legacy of Theresa “Tea” Elizabeth Whitaker, who entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2026. Theresa was born on September 12, 1954, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late James H. Whitaker Sr. and Lola M. Whitaker. She was raised in the Edgemont community and graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1973.

Theresa dedicated 30 years of faithful service to The Hershey Chocolate Plant before retiring in October 2008. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Affectionately known by everyone as "Tea," she was a faithful member of First Spirit Filled Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and in the Youth Ministry. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found comfort and strength in her favorite scripture, Psalm 23.

Tea loved traveling and music and had a special gift for bringing people together through her cooking. Whether preparing a family meal or opening her home to loved ones, she made everyone feel welcome. Above all, she valued time spent with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Her love, generosity, and strong but gentle spirit touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Whitaker Sr. and Lola M. Whitaker, and her brothers, Christopher L. Whitaker and James H. Whitaker Jr. (Yvonne).

Left to cherish her precious memory are her beloved children, Eugene J. Whitaker and Nicolle A. Whitaker-Perry (Leo Sr.); her six treasured grandchildren, Tre, Adryanna, Bre'yone, Leo Jr., Lloyd, and Bella; her sister, Shirley A. Price; her brother, Larry B. Whitaker; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended and honorary family members, church family, and dear friends.

Though Tea will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We rejoice in knowing she now rests peacefully in the loving arms of her Savior.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
