Theron Jeffery Golden, lovingly known to most as “Jeff,” went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2026, at the age of 66 in Palm Bay, Florida.
Jeff was born on November 28, 1959, in Tampa, Florida, to James and Carolyn Golden. From an early age, he possessed a warm spirit, a love for people, and a heart that would leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jeff graduated from Victory Christian Academy in 1981 and later attended the Academy of Medical Arts and Sciences. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps before beginning a successful 30-year career in automobile sales and dealership management throughout the Harrisburg area. Known for his personable nature, honesty, and ability to connect with others, Jeff never met a stranger and built countless friendships through the years. He had a unique ability to make each person he spoke to feel like he was solely focused on them, even in a crowded room.
More than anything, Jeff was known for his deep faith in the Lord, his love for God’s Word, and his genuine care for people. He had a gift for listening and encouraging others, and many found comfort, wisdom, and counsel in conversations with him. He faithfully stayed connected with family and friends over the years, always making others feel valued and remembered.
Jeff dearly loved his wife, Melissa, and treasured each of his children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to him. As the oldest of seven brothers, he naturally became a protector, encourager, and trusted confidant to them throughout life.
Jeff faithfully served the Lord at Cornerstone Baptist Church for many years, especially in the youth ministry, where he invested his time and heart into teaching and mentoring young people. He also played an important role in mission trips dedicated to sharing the Gospel and serving others.
Music was another passion close to Jeff’s heart. He loved playing the guitar, writing songs, and singing whenever he had the opportunity. Whether gathered with family or friends, Jeff often brought joy and warmth through music.
Jeff also loved sports. In his younger years and well into adulthood, he was an excellent basketball player. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan era and later enjoyed cheering for the Golden State Warriors. He also faithfully rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles and loved watching them play.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, James Golden, and his mother, Carolyn Golden.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Melissa Golden; his children, Anita Golden, Alisha Golden, Jonathan Golden, and Joseph Golden (Brittni); his brothers, Myron Golden (Tonie), Michael Golden (Unikia), Robert Golden (Maxine), Dwayne Golden (Patty), Derrick Golden (Francis), and Marc Golden (Peggy); and his cherished grandchildren, Aliyah, Gracelynn, Connor and Zion. He is also survived by a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jeff Golden will be held on May 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Dayspring Ministries, 1600 Spring Garden Drive, Middletown, PA 17057. Visitation with the family will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Paxtang Cemetery, 490 Paxtang Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
In honor of Jeff’s life and faith, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church in his memory.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
