Thomasina Turner-Dantzler was born on January 20, 1958, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles “Red” Turner and Dorothy Black Dantzler. Throughout her life, she shared a sweet spirit, a caring heart, and a sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Her family and friends will remember her for the love she gave and the laughter they shared.
Thomasina graduated from John Harris High School with the Class of 1976. She worked in supply chain for the United States Government, taking pride and finding fulfillment in her work. She valued her career while making time for the people and activities she loved.
At the center of Thomasina’s heart was her only son, Dontre Dantzler. Her love for him was deep and enduring, and being his mother was a treasured part of her life. She also adored her beloved dog, Tadd, whom she loved like another son.
Thomasina enjoyed traveling, seeing the world, and taking car rides. She welcomed opportunities to explore different restaurants and try new foods, and she loved cooking. Shopping and browsing yard sales were among the everyday pleasures that brought her joy.
Music, movies, and television shows were also favorite pastimes. She enjoyed staying active through exercise and fitness classes.
Kind and loving, Thomasina found joy in caring for others. She was always ready with a joke or a way to make someone laugh, bringing warmth to ordinary moments and leaving her loved ones with memories they will continue to treasure.
On September 22, 2026, at the age of 68, Thomasina transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal home.
In addition to her parents, Thomasina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rosie Black and Carl Black; her paternal grandparents, Annie Jay Lambert Turner and Charles Turner; her sister, Bernadette Hendrix; and her brothers, Robert Lee Turner, Charles Turner, and Hugh Brian Turner. She also held a special place in her heart for the late Helen Evans and Robyn Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Dontre Dantzler; and her siblings, Raymond Dantzler, Earl Dantzler, Martha Dantzler, Sandra Crosson, Randall Dantzler, Celestine Dantzler, and Christian Turner.
Also cherishing her memory are her aunts, Wylene T. Dickerson, affectionately known as “Aunt Lena,” and Ann Woodward, affectionately known as “Aunt Marie”; special loved ones Jasmine Berry, whom she cherished as her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Watter Owens, Terry Harrison, Cynthia Brooks, and Jasmine Brown; and other family members and friends.
Thomasina’s memory will remain close in the moments she enjoyed: a favorite song, a shared meal, a car ride, or a familiar joke that brings a smile through tears. Through the stories her loved ones tell and the memories they hold dear, her warmth and laughter will continue to live on.
