Timothy A. Tabor, 69, passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2023 at home with his family in his favorite room, the music room, surrounded by his vintage vinyl collection. Born July 23, 1953 in Warren, Ohio, Tim is the son of Bessie Jane Williams Tabor and Louie Tabor Sr.
Preceding Tim in death are his parents; three brothers, Louie Tabor Jr., Joseph Tabor, Leslie Tabor; and sister-in-law Paula Tabor.
Tim graduated from Niles McKinley High School In June of 1972 and then Juniata College earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Sciences in 1976. Employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 33 years, Tim counseled youth at Forestry Camp #3 James Creek PA and Loysville Youth Development Center Loysville PA. Afterwards, Tim worked at the Dept of Corrections where he, in addition to counseling, evaluated inmates before retiring in 2011.
Photography was a primary hobby of Tim’s and after retirement, he became a professional, winning a Merit Award from Center film Lab’s Summer Fun ’82 Photo Contest and impressing customers as a portrait and event photographer. Tim also gave back to his alma mater advising the varsity basketball team, assisting hunger relief through Juniata College Meal for Crop, an organization that works through the Church World Service, and lecturing classes on various Sociology and Psychology topics. Tim also was a member of the Niles OH Historical Society. In his leisure time, he enjoyed jazz, travel, working out at the gym, long scenic drives, gourmet food, and college football (especially the Ohio State Buckeyes).
Tim will be deeply missed by his wife Donna Tabor,; his sisters Martha Truss (Michael) of Warren OH, Janet Tabor of Niles OH, Cindy Tabor of Minera Ridge OH; and brother Geoffrey Tabor of Williamstown MA and stepdaughter Kelly Solis (Jason) and step-grandchild Krianna Perry; along with many nieces and nephews.
