Tyra Nicole Duffin

November 21, 1972 - May 3, 2024

Tyra Nicole Duffin, daughter of Nadine Duffin (deceased) and Howard Carey passed peacefully away on May 3, 2024 in San Francisco, CA after long and painful illness. Although the family knew this day was coming, it didn't lessen our feelings of sadness.  

Tyra was born November 21, 1972 in Harrisburg, PA. She received her early education in the Harrisburg School District before moving to San Francisco at the age of eight. Tyra had many nicknames, "Zebra Diva" (she loved zebra print), "Boony Girl", "Duff", and "Tweety Bird."  Tyra loved to draw, in fact, she sold some of her art to various art galleries in San Francisco. She loved anything with "bling", shopping, having family get-togethers especially with her children and grandchildren. She was a free spirit, always smiling. She was kind, loving and caring.  She loved riding motorcycles with her daughter and often with her dad whenever she visited Harrisburg.

Tyra leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved grandmother, Constance Plater, her loving step-mother, Patricia Felton Carey, her devoted brother, Tyrone Anderson (Tamika); her step-sister, Vicki, her two daughters Lajonne, and Dashea, her son, JaKhari, her aunts, Joyce McKay, Nicole Robinson, Faye Duffin, Toni Greene, Verna Archie, and her special aunt, Dorothy Jackson; her uncles, Gilbert Duffin, Leonard Robinson, Richard McKay, Daryl Carey, and Daryl Duffin, six grandchildren, and several cousins especially her sister-cousin, Toyia Plater-Baltimore.
