Vivian A. Hopkins

Sister Vivian A. Hopkins, age seventy-three, of Mechanicsburg, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Sister Hopkins was born in Beards Fork, WV to the late Reverend Henry Sherrod and Ms. Inez (Medley) Sherrod. She was the only girl and third eldest of nine children. Sister Hopkins was a loving and devoted mother and wife who continuously gave of herself to her family. Sister Hopkins retired from the Department of Army as an Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor.
She was a founding member and Deaconess of Baptist Fellowship and served as the Minister of Music for several years at Baptist Fellowship Church where she was instrumental in establishing the church choir. Her love of music was only surpassed by her love for her Lord. She enjoyed playing as well as listening to all forms of gospel music. Her morning hours, like clockwork, were spent studying the Bible while listening to some of her favorite television teachers. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and enjoyed learning about different cultures and histories.
Sister Hopkins is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Deacon Frank E. Hopkins, Jr., and their children, Tammy A. Johnson (Randall), USA Colonel Frank E. Hopkins, III (Camille), David M. Hopkins (Karen), Cassaundra N. Green (Warren), seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jalen, Jae`l, Michael, Jonas, Benjamin, and Olivia, her Mother Inez Sherrod, seven brothers, and a host of nephews and nieces.
