Wallace Lee Butler III, born on June 23, 1991 in Harrisburg, PA to the parents of Lyndelle D. Butler and Wallace L. Butler II. Affectionately known as "Dude" by his mother, “Big Guy" by his father, and "Tres” by family and friends, he loved life!
Wallace’s personality was one that was not easily forgotten when you talked to him. His infectious smile and pleasant demeanor were his strong suits. Wallace enjoyed receiving hugs as well as giving hugs like a big, loveable teddy bear.
As a member of Beulah Baptist Church, he was a member of the former Youth Choir group. Wallace graduated from Harrisburg High School in 2009, playing football from his freshman year to his senior year. Continuing his education, Wallace attended City Year in Philadelphia, an educational vocational school. While in Philadelphia, he participated in numerous outreach projects as well as tutoring and counseling intercity youth.
During his working career, Wallace was a Sales Assistant at Pilot Company, Flagger at Flagger Force Traffic Control. While at Flagger Force, he was promoted from a Field Flagger to a Lead Crew Leader with additional responsibilities in receiving a field truck and coordinating work routes and detours.
In his leisure time, Wallace loved dancing, binge watching "The Walking Dead" as well as all types of other movies, gaming and music. He enjoyed the many, many family social gatherings. As an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he is attending several pro football games. GO STEELERS!
Wallace leaves to cherish special memories his devoted parents, Lyndelle and Wallace Butler; his sister, Nichelle Butler; grandparents, Wallace and Cecelia Butler, Barbara Crosson (predeceased by Henry Crosson); grandfather, Brinson Brown; aunts, Stacey Benton, Peggy Badgett (Aaron), Patricia Butler; uncle, Randy Benton (Mikki); Godparents, Sherri Conyers and John Baylor; host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
