William S. Banks

William S. Banks, 96 of Harrisburg, a legendary Jazz Drummer, passed on August 22, 2016.  Affectionately known as Sammy, he was a member of PA Friends of Jazz, an inductee of the PA Jazz Hall of Fame and performed with various Jazz greats like Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Stitt, Illinois Jacquet and Dexter Gordon, to name a few. Services were held privately by the family and a Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Lovingly submitted by his children Carlos Washington, Wanda Banks Pierce and Pebbles Washington.
