William Henry Cooper, 71 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, with his dedicated wife, Laverne by his side. William was the son of the late William and Gladys Cooper.
William, or Billy/Bill as he was known by his family and friends, was born on January 11, 1946 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was a graduate of the former William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA and was an Army Vietnam Veteran, honorably discharged. He was employed by Wilsbach Distributors for over 36 years. William was an avid sports fan, and loved watching football and basketball. He was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved children and animals and had many pets as a child, most of all, he loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by a niece, Cathy Bonner. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Laverne Cooper, three step sons; Jeffrey, Russell and Wesley Peggues; children William D. Cooper, Shawn Wilson (Kira), Fred Brown (Andrea) and Tomasina Brown; a brother Robert Cooper (Lorraine), 3 sisters; Mary Ann Carter, Rella Rice (Maurice), and Arlene Cooper, a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
