Granda L. Gladden

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

Granda Louise Gladden, daughter to the late Cora Mae Gladden Porter and Robert “Lacey” Diggs was born Tuesday, January 3, 1956, in Harrisburg, PA.  Sister, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Sister was a very outspoken woman and to know her was to love her.  In her prime, Sister enjoyed crocheting, the outdoors, playing bingo, and being with family and friends. Sister had a stroke, which caused her to become disabled.  That did not stop Sister’s spunk though.  Her late mother and grandmother were her caregivers until her needs required her to go into a nursing home.  She transitioned  home with her family where she spent the last years of her life.   She just loved being in the presence of family and friends. Although she could not participate, she loved just sitting watching the family play cards and dance. She loved watching cartoons with her grandchildren. Sister loved seeing her family happy; that alone brought a smile to her face. Sister fought hard for years battling strokes and being bed bound. Sister is no longer suffering and is at peace in heaven with her parents and grandparents.

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, Sister transitioned into eternal life joining her parents and grandparents Ellen and George Pleasant. She leaves to celebrate her life her daughter, Shamicca Gentry of Steelton PA, her caregiver; and son David Gladden of Harrisburg, PA, also her caregiver; six grandchildren, Lymicc, Arie, Paris, Lymeer, Promise, and Lamar of Steelton, PA; siblings: Ramon Gladden (Cindy) of Stafford, VA; David Gladden, Darlene Gladden, Lucretia Gladden, John Gladden, Kim Diggs (Audra) of Harrisburg PA, and a host of other family members and friends.
