Jayceon J. K. Moore

Jayceon K. J. Moore, 7 years old, of Harrisburg, received his wings on Friday, December 25th, 2020 in his home, and has gone to be with the Lord. Jayceon was born in Harrisburg on January 21st, 2013.  He was a 2nd grader at the Premier Arts & Science Charter School.  He loved dancing, playing his Fortnite games, and participating in the sport of boxing with his family and friends.  And he especially loved posting his ‘moves’ on Tik Tok.  He loved family, and “family day”, which was Sunday, was particularly special.  His mom would make a big dinner, and they would watch “Power” together.

Jayceon didn’t see himself as an average 7-year-old, but more as a grown up.  His favorite color was red.  He was very intelligent; he often asked questions that puzzled his mom, and she would have to research to find the answers.  “You wouldn’t go to sleep unless I went to bed with you, always making sure you touched me, whether a foot on me, legs across me, or with your arms tangled up with mine, and you would suck your thumb on the other hand and then fall asleep.  You wouldn’t let me go, you need your mommy warmth.  God please take care of him, such a vibrant spirit!  We talked about the real meaning of Christmas, but we never talked about heaven.”

Jayceon’s bond with his aunt Dawn (Dawnetta) was unbreakable; she often took care of him when his mom couldn’t be there.  She never separated from her “lil man.”  She taught him his manners and how to cook.  He played pranks on her - he could get away with anything with his Aunt Dawn!  During the last few weeks there were even more tickle and pillow fights.  “God was preparing us for last memories.”

Jayceon is survived by his parents, Tanya Connor and Frank Moore, siblings Daijore Connor and Leeijah and Frank Moore, Jr., grandparents Frank Lane and Elreatha Connor, aunts Dawnetta Washington, Inomonique and Imagany Stallworth-Sanders, uncles Dwayne and Christopher Connor and Eugene and Ridge Moore, and great-aunt Sondra Hurt, along with a host of relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by grandmother Lori Moore, grandfather William Connor, Jr., who just went home on January 1st, 2021, and his “angel in heaven” Johnny Stallworth-Sanders.  It is a blessing that they are all with him now.
