Rochelle Mosley was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on March 21, 1950 to the late Carolyn E. Clark and Robert Folks. “Boonie” as she was affectionately known, began her formal education attending schools in Edgemont, Susquehanna Township, and in the Harrisburg School District. After receiving a high school diploma, Boonie would go on to take courses at the Harrisburg Area Community College to prepare for a career in Customer Service. She held customer service positions at the Uptown YMCA and Brenner Motors before landing a position with IBM company AECOM, where she would retire in 2017 after 23 years of service. With her passion for helping others and desire to stay busy, Boonie went on to work part-time at Career Link and The Red Cross until she became ill.
After months of battling cancer, surrounded by family in the peace and love of her home, Boonie peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Saturday October 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Folks, her mother Carolyn Clark, sister Vita Evans, sister Sharon “Bunky” Blockson, and brother Robert Chase. She leaves to cherish her son Unique Musa (Yolanda), and daughters Vita King (Weldon), Tina Mosley (Johnny Patrick) of Richmond, Virginia; and their father Linn Mosley, her siblings Gwendolyn Thomas, Sandra Bouie, Toby Clark Morrison, Lonnie Jo Clark, Renee Chase, Angie Folks, and Cherise Folks; her uncle Jasper Folks; her “nephew” Terrance Holmes, and “niece” Kecia Holmes; her grandchildren Michelle, Dobbriale, Amir, Darcey, Lori, Zaheer, Nasir, Yasin, Makayla, Samaya, Jasmine, Maurice, Justin and Austin; and 10 Great Grand Children.
Boonie loved most in life raising her grandchildren, spending time with her family and friends, helping anyone in need no matter their circumstance, and her personal relationship with God. She especially loved to laugh and have a good time. Her sense of humor, laughter, and smile were infectious. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending church services, watching anything Tyler Perry, and shopping at Gabe’s and Boscov’s. Boonie was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God and Christ and a member of the American Legion Post 733.
